SIG: IT Project Management

The purpose of the IT Project Management SIG is to encourage collaboration among all UNC System schools on the topic of project management, particularly within IT organizations. This SIG will provide a mechanism for IT project management professionals to share information on how their organizations vet and govern projects, account for resource constraints, employ project methodologies, leverage project management tools, and so much more!

This session at UNC Cause 2024 will be a panel discussion titled Project Management for Non-project Managers (and dedicated PMs too). Many higher education employees are assigned to manage projects as 'other duties as assigned.' We are seating a panel of experienced project managers to cover some basic tools, techniques, and tips to help manage projects in a structured manner. Bring your questions too as we will open up the panel to address audience questions.

The Single Sign-on & Identity Management SIG's purpose is to facilitate collaboration on SSO-IDM matters such as Shibboleth 2.x IdP already being end-of-life and most of the UNC system has yet to upgrade to IdP v3. Additionally, address communication within the UNC system about best practices with SSO and IDM. All 16 campuses are dealing with this and all need to get together regularly to discuss our solutions.
